Waste Analysis and Characterization Study for River Waste in Guatemala

About this Project
Guatemala

Characterization of Complex, High-Moisture Waste Streams (Pumping Station Analogue): Execution of WACS specifically designed to assess the composition and treatment potential of riverborne waste collected from waterways. This experience is highly analogous to the required WACS at Metro Manila Pumping Stations as the samples involved highly entangled materials, significant organic matter, sand, and stones. The detailed analysis identified recovery opportunities and guided the design of mechanical systems capable of sorting complex, wet streams, providing critical design input for future large-scale facilities.
