WWF’s Plastic Smart Cities program is an initiative to support cities and coastal areas worldwide to take bold action to stop plastic pollution. SweepSmart supported WWF Thailand with a feasibility study for a plastic Material Recovery Facility in Surat Thani.
What's great about it?
- The Surat Thani city had limiting existing waste management players, so creative solutions had to be found to start a movement there.
- The Surat Thani mayor was very interested to implement solutions to implement a source-segregated waste management system.
